I don't know about economic power, but in terms of cultural relevance Camden might as well not exist. In people's minds, it's just the place you have to drive through to get to Philly. Some of my favorite times are tailgating before concerts in the parking lots around Campbell's Field though.
Camden economic power LOL. Campbell's and Rutgers-Camden are two pretty big employers but just those two places hardly qualify Camden as an economic power. I wouldn't call AC an economic power either, but it's more of a power than Camden.
The problem with this is that in South Jersey the economic base is geographically diversified and not centralized at all. I would think AC makes more of a contribution to the state than Camden though. If we are talking about total economic influence than Camden County is probably tops overall. However, if we are just talking businesses based there, you could also make a strong argument for Gloucester County and the Pureland complex.
