Default That's what we thought but my husband swears someone told him some other piping

that is what we discussed but my husband thinks he heard someone tell him something different and he couldn't remember.............

Is this a new house? What kind of piping is in the house(if not new)?
If your meter requires a special fitting try your water utility/supplier.
