I'd go with Mt. Laurel, Cherry Hill or Moorestown. All are close to 295 and a major east-west road that feeds it. And all are relatively equidistant from Princeton and Glassboro.

Bordentown and Burlington City aren't bad options. Willingboro is a bad idea.

Haddonfield or Collingswood could be options. Do not think I saw either mentioned yet. Both have nice Main Streets (Haddonfield's is probably nicer... but its a dry town). Depends what you like.

Willingboro would not be the safest area to consider nor would proximity be all that great. I would suggest Collingswood (where I live), Haddon Twp or Haddonfield. Collingswood is the closest to Philly and affords you restaurants, 12 minute commute to the city of Philly. Princeton would take about 50 minutes and Rowan about 25. You would get a nice town with a "village" feel. Nice downtown, GREAT farmers market and a restaurant row second only to Philly.

Yes, Mount Laurel. I live in Mount Laurel and work at Bristol-Myers Squibb in Princeton. If I leave early enough - or late enough - I can get to Princeton in 50 minutes. From my home to Rowan University - which is still Route 295 to Route 55 South - it's about 1/2 hour. HOpe this helps - Mt. Laurel is ALWAYS RATED very high - and has incredible schools - look up the Burlington County School Report Cards.

The commute from that part of NJ - "Collingswood" to Princeton would be horrible.....Too conjested down there. You are too far south from Princeton at that point.

Get yourself a map and you will see Princeton - Rowan (Glassboro) is basically one main road #295. I would stay in the corridor of that road - Get a home in Mt. Laurel (route 38 exit) off 295 and the next exit south of that is route #73 which is Mt. Laurel or possibly Maple Shade. Route 295 moves quickly morning and nite - everyone and I mean everyone does 75-80 on that road - but rush hour only. Don't do that speed on a SAturday or you WILL get a ticket. Cops won't stop you rush hour cause eveyrone else is doing it and it keeps that road moving.. I have been doing this commute 10 years.

The most equidistant option is the Medford/Marlton area. Berlin-Cross Keys Road to Rowan and 206 to 295 to 1 to Princeton. Both will take 45 minutes or so.

How did I know you would say Medford/Marlton? I could say im commuting to Manhattan and Medford/Marlton would come up. Medford would be a horrible as its about 25 minutes to 295 then 25 more each way.

Rage much? Here is the OP...

My wife got a job at Rowan University in Glassboro and I will be working at Princeton University in Princeton.

We are looking for a place somewhere in between the two. Here are some of the criteria we have.

1. It's a safe neighborhood
2. Looking to rent a 2+ bedroom apt/house/townhouse
3. Price range $1200 - $1800
The area I suggested hits all of the qualifiers and is equidistant between the two commute destinations. Yes, it will take 45-50 minutes to Princeton, but it's the same to Rowan. Move more either way and you will bias the commute to one or the other. The real problem is that the Rowan commuter, if living further north towards Princeton, will be murdered by the 295 south commute at the 76/42 interchange, especially with the construction they are doing over the next decade. Move to an area where that won't be an issue like Collingswood or Haddon Township and you end up staring at an hour and 20+ minute commute to Princeton on a good day. The Medford/Marlton suggestion allows "back road" access via Berlin-Cross Keys, hence avoiding 295 all together for the Rowan commuter and still staying reasonably close to Princeton with a straight shot up 206 to 295.

What's your suggestion?

PS My suggestion for commuting to Manhattan would be Hoboken.
