We are thinking of taking a quick trip to AC sometime in August.
I mean the last time I went to AC was like in 2005 however, I did not stay in any hotels. This time around a group of us is going and I'm wondering what hotel is nice to stay in? Cleanliness and comfort are most important.
Has anyone been and stayed in AC recently? Please share your experience with me as far as your hotel stay, the boardwalk / beach? I'd appreciate it! Thanks!!
I would definitely stay at Revel, especially if you want more to do than gamble. I haven't stayed there, but when they opened I went on an hour-long guided tour of the place. I don't think people who just like to gamble have been impressed with it, but as far as hotels go, it's the only one that can rightly call itself a resort IMO. There are many pools indoor and out, with a big one outside that has a 24 hour pool party. You can also swim from inside to outside!
The best thing about it was the roof, though. It had 20,000 plants and trees all native to NJ, with fire pits and comfy chairs and waiters interspersed throughout the vegetation, and the front of the roof overlooking the boardwalk and ocean is lined with rocking chairs.
The best thing is only hotel guests can have access to these areas. You cannot be comped into a hotel guest area, and they have people who check I.D. before you can into the hotel area elevators to ensure it.
They have a private beach area, with activities, yoga in the morning, etc.
They also have a great spa area, with a wave pool and surfing lessons.
I live too close to justify staying there, at least in season, but if I were going to be staying in AC I wouldn't even have to think about it.
Just don't fall for the "you can't lose gamble promotion", I personally thought it was no
big deal but people fell for it thinking there's no fine print. Revel is newer but not necessarily the cleanest according to reviews. There's a club and motel behind tropicana some stay at called open closet or something but if u want big casino then Borgota Harrahs and tropicana have good reputations.

I don't gamble, but when I hear the commercials I always wonder. What is the "catch"?
I was there for my bachelorette weekend this weekend. We stayed at Showboat and the rooms were pretty nice/affordable. It is right on the boardwalk too, so there is plenty to do. We used to stay at Tropicana a lot but it's gotten to be too expensive.
Showboat has always been the one that seemed to merge "nice and affordable" the best. You can get nicer, but it won't be affordable. You can get cheaper, but it won't be nice. It's a bit of a walk from Showboat to the "action spots" like Tropicana and Caesar's, but not a big deal at all.

You could always have one of those dudes pull you down the boardwalk
