Morristown would be a good place to live, but I know apartments there can be very expensive. I know someone that was paying about $1800 for a 1BR. If you want to live closer to NYC you could consider a town like South Orange that has a direct train into NYC (40-minute ride), and a decent downtown. Seton Hall is there too so you would probably get a younger crowd. Then you could commute up route 24 to work in Morristown.
