Hey guys - do you guys think buying a house near high tension lines (the tower is like 75 feet from the house) - could cause any health hazards?
would it be difficult to sell such a house in Montvale, NJ (Bergen County) ?
Location of the house is really good so it is a tough call to whether give it up because of the close proximity to the power lines..
Thanks in advance!
I just bought a house in Montvale off of Grand Ave., so I think I know where you are talking about. There is a path of power lines that cuts across the top of NJ, just about parallel to the border with NY (just above the intersection of Grand Ave and Rivervale Road). I also checked out that house (was a little stretch above my price range, which is the main reason I didn't look that closely) and the power lines are mainly just an eye sore. From what I've read, there is nothing to be worried about health-wise. Montvale is a great town with low taxes and great schools, but if you are thinking of selling it in a few years, you probably will lose some potential buyers either because they are misinformed about the health hazards of the lines, or simply don't like seeing it. That house has been on the market for like 6 months or so, so maybe you could get a deal on it if you don't mind seeing the tower.
yes jojoLopes - we are talking about the same house!!!
on the border on NJ and NY....
am glad u guys dont think it is a health hazard...we dont either...but i hope we can sell it at least at the same price some years down the line....i dont mind seeing it
