My friend received a marriage proposal at age 27. The guy was crazy about her. He was blue-collar, hard worker, and spoke a little funny. Friend's brothers told her "you can do better!" She agreed.

She turned 50 in July... a spinster. She's not happy.

Should the focus be on "you can do better" or "it's good enough"?

It seems to come down to one's preference. For me, Butler would be plenty good enough.

Butler is a very small town, like most have said it is a blue collar town, the schools are fine, the town is becoming more built up and it is close to major highways, the more desirable towns would be Pompton Plains, Pequannock or Kinnelon, even Bloomingdale and West Milford or Riverdale would be good neighborhoods to seek out.

I was born and raised in Butler. Butler has some famous history to it involving the Staute of Liberty. The town is very child friendly and the police department is very active in getting children involved in many activities. Downtown side of the tracks was once the spot to shop but times have changed. Tha park during Christmas is the centerpiece. If you are planning on moving stay in those areas opposite downtown or this side of the RR tracks.
