"A physical altercation took place between a volunteer for Representative Frank J. Pallone (D-NJ-6) and the campaign treasurer of his challenger, Anna C. Little, in Atlantic Highlands last night. The incident took place in front of witnesses and involved police...."
"....Joseph "Joe" Hawley, the apparent leader of the Pallone team, took exception to the appearance of the Little team and attempted to interfere with them. At that moment, Jane Frotton, 68, Little's campaign treasurer (who also is the chairwoman of the Republican club in Atlantic Highlands), drove up to the spot, got out, and attempted to reason with Hawley....."
".....Hawley escalated the conflict by making disparaging remarks about Frotton's husband Bernie Frotton (79), calling him "senile" at one point. Frotton took exception to that and upbraided Hawley for his rudeness. That was when Hawley placed his hand on Frotton's left shoulder and shoved, according to Cote, who was present and directly witnessed the incident. Frotten struck Hawley back in return...."
Wow, what a low rent scumbag. I don't care whose politics these two people are, you don't slap a 68 year old woman across the face. The man is a coward.
Good luck to Anna Little, but does anyone think she has any chance of winning? I'd love to give Pallone (a/k/a Pelosi's lapdog) his walking papers, but that district is gerrymandered just enough (it includes some urban areas in Middlesex County) to push Pallone over the top.
The real race to watch is NJ-3. A moderate Democrat (Adler) versus former Philadelphia Eagle and Republican newcomer (Runyan). Personally, even as a registered Republican, I will probably be voting for Adler. I don't like the idea of a candidate who's probably only there because he played football and now expects to be handed a seat in Congress due to name recognition. That doesn't sit well with me at all, and it almost seems like a lame gimmick backed by a little bit of arrogance by this guy that he deserves a seat in Congress just like that.
Despite not sharing the same views on many issues, I think Adler is an honorable man, and I've seen first-hand how much he cares about constituents. It's not unusual for him to respond personally to e-mails or call back those who call/write into his office with concerns. I know someone who had a concern over an issue and he literally wrote a bill to fix that issue within a few weeks!
Surprising!
The fringe collective built from esoteric, undefined outrage; yet absolutely no fundamental solutions sounds about right.
Undefined outrage? Hasn't that been the Democrats' platform for about half a century? Get people from a smattering of small interest groups "mad" and hungry for "change" and then push through the same failing social programs and fiscal policies than never seem to work?
Anywho, best of luck to Anna Little. She beat the "real" Republican, a liberal housewife with millions of dollars and a waterfront mansion, in the primary. Maybe she can beat Pallone in the general. Pallone isn't a bad guy, but he's so much farther to the left than the district as a whole. It's time for a change in NJ-6.

That was quite an academic response.
The mere mention of "Tea Party" and you became oblivious to the thread's subject matter of some bruiser for the Democratic Machine cursing at and hitting a 68 year old lady.

fringe? the tea party movement should include every working american. the focus is cutting taxes and limiting the size of government. the main stream media's attempts to make them look like fringe right wing extemists will fail. come novermber we will see a tea party revolution that will stop obama's communist takeover in its tracks.

He's graduated from a Socialist to a full fledged Communist, huh? So what makes him a communist?

look at the expansion of government in america (spending, regulation, role in our daily lives) while the private sector is shedding jobs. everything he has done has moved us closer to communism. he is a communist, his aspirations are limited by congress and when the tea party takes over he is done with his communist revolution.
