I am trying to decide on a rental property (relocating from out of the area) and I do not have the luxury of visiting the houses during the week to get a feel for traffic. I need to be at work around 6:30 am and leave work around 4:30 pm. I can adjust these times if it will help with traffic. Can someone give me an average drive time, and any idea on how often I should expect significant delays. I will drive from home to work Mon to Fri. Also if anyone has any input on the neighborhood I would appreciate it - not worried about house cost, rather community feel and safety when walking around the area.
To Newark Airport from:
Option 1: Cooper Rd and Martine Ave, Scotch Plains
Option 2: Katherine Drive, Warren
Option 3: Piscataway, Edison, etc area
Scotch Plains is the closest, but since this property is South of Fanwood I am concerned with the GSP as well as in town driving to get to the GSP. Warren covers more miles, but will the speeds on 78 be enough to offset the GSP? I figure the drive from Piscataway, Edison will be horrible especially during peak shore season.
