I went there for the first time and really liked the area.

Does anyone know of any affordable apartments in the area that are new?

I've looked at the main places and they're very expensive.

Originally I was going to rent in Hoboken but I pretty much gave up on that.

What's your budget and what are you willing to endure. For example, older high rise condo or low rise condo that have bad soundproofing and not the latest & hottest interior?

Under $1600 would be nice. I am supposed to view one in the Hudson Harbor building soon. Not sure about that complex though since I haven't seen it yet. It seems like this studio has been on the market for a long time, which seems odd since everything seems to go fast.

Well you are at the cutoff point for budget. If you hit 1800-2200, you get access to the newer condos like City Place, Avalon, etc along river road. For 1600 and below, your choices are limited to older condo, pre-war buildings, and private home rentals. Don't expect latest, nicest, unit for rental for 1600 a month range.

Hudson Harbour is older high rise condo built in 70s and then updated later on like in 80s or early 90s. I forget. HH has all the amementities of luxury condo like swimming pool, tennis court, 24/7 door man, private parking but it's all dated. Best perk is utilities are included. Few bad things, soundproofing isn't all that good so if you got loud neighbor that is going to suck. Second, because price point for rental and owning is cheap compared to the area. There are lot of non-cauasians there if that's a problem for you.

If you are looking for nice, luxury, modern unit to rent in Edgewater. It's like Hoboken, you gotta pay more to avoid pre-war and older condo buildings.

If you roommate, 1600 a month will get u into good places but for single...not much.
