Hello,

I am in the process of trying to put a plan into action for relocating to the East Coast. This isn't something that just came upon me, but has been percolating in my head for approximately 4 - 5 years. I just have never been able to figure out how to make it happen. I have been in San Diego my whole life, born and raised, and am in desperate need of change.

The East Coast calls to me. I want to experience seasons and am in need of a new experience. It's hard to know exactly how to approach this never doing this before.I have just a little money set aside that could get my by a couple to few months, and I won't have a job. So how do I do this, that is the question. I feel if I can get out there and sign up with different temp agencies it is a good way to get started immediately. I have been working different temp jobs since I was laid off in December 2008 at my company here, so I am comfortable starting there.

Does anyone know good neighborhoods in Jersey that are close to New York City without being too expensive?

Any recommendations on what all needs to be done when your looking to relocate because I have never done this before.

Any forums or people that can help newcomers with suggestions, jobs, neighborhoods to live and how to make it happen without a job and limited money? I know people do it all the time and I am tired of waiting. I have been waiting and there will never be a perfect time or situation where this kind of a move will be just right for me. The time is now. Any advice is appreciated.

Sincerely,
Charmaine
