Immy driving from Springfield, follow captne76 directions. It's easy to get there from Springfield.

Why not just take the 114 bus from Springfield straight in? Especially if you work near 42nd?

Marv, the problem - no one to drop me at the bus station. It's not a park & ride, is it? I will be going in for an interview. The job is not on 42nd.

Well if you went today, you might have a pile of weather related traffic messes according to NJ.com:

String of car crashes in Newark causes heavy traffic delays, shutdown of Route 21 viaduct | NJ.com

Newark traffic was bad yesterday and it wasn't even lunch rush. Why drive to Newark when you can drive to nearby Summit and park....

1. Park at Summit (plently of parking , arrive 10 mins before departure)
2. Take the Morristown line to New York Penn station
3. Take the E train form Penn Station to 7th Ave - 53 Street station
4. Walk east on 53rd Street till you get to 6 Ave and then walk up 3 blocks (small blocks)
Should take you an Hour and a half form Summit , to 55th and 6th. Driving to Newark and taking the train would add another 45mins....due to Downtown Newark congestion.
