Hi, we may have found a decent mobile home in a fairly decent park (some of you kind folks have been with me on this whole adventure). While we were viewing the home, we heard rapid fire (pops) in the distance. I asked the home owner about them and she said that is from the base, but they don't do that very often. She also stated that esp. on Sundays there is a lot of low flying planes-and she meant quite low. I asked if this bothered her and she said "No, it makes me feel safe".

Also as some of you who probably live in or near the area already know, the bases are being combined into one huge military complex. So I need some information as we are not familiar with the areas around Jackson (where the mobile home is) and was hoping some folks can fill me in.

To be honest, this kind of noise would drive me nuts. My hubby and I like some peace and quiet. We are a "creative" type of people and I'm hoping to get well enough to get back into writing. The home itself is gorgeous for a mobile home and has a lot of extras that are usually not found in them.

The park looks to be on Google Earth at the most 9 miles away from the topmost airstrip at Lakehurst. So it's pretty close. However, there are other parks that are farther away to the North and I was wondering if they might be a better choice as far as noise is concerned.

For anyone who lives in the area, is there a certain distance away from the military complex for us to avoid at least some of the noise? I realize that in that area one cannot escape it except to look somewhere else in the state.

Thanks in advance.
