State of New Jersey - Motor Vehicle Commission

Civil birth certificate* or certified copy from one of the 50 states, District of Columbia or a US territory. Photocopies or certificates from hospitals or religious entities are not accepted. Get information for Jersey City/Hudson County birth certificate requirements
*Please read IMPORTANT INFORMATION below.

*All documents must be ORIGINAL or CERTIFIED COPIES, in English, and have the required state and/or municipal seals.

I can just piucture it: "There is no state or municipal seal on this document, application for driver's license denied..."

(This isn't political, I'm just venting because my birth certificate was rejected and I DO have a raised seal )

Default I'm somebody again!

Born in Hudson County about half a century ago, I discovered a few years back that my original birth certificate is now 'invalid' too:
NJ Vital Records: Jersey City - Hudson County Vital Records including birth certificates and information needed for MVC
(This has already been discussed in the forum: //www.city-data.com/forum/new-jersey/575987-hudson-county-birth-certificates.html)

After having my application denied at DMV, I opted to get a 'valid' birth certificate from the state. I guess I'm only 'somebody' if the state says I am. I'm 'nobody' regardless of what the county once said.

Do you REALLY have nothing else to do than bring this up again? Asked and answered. If you don't like the guy, that's fine. There's an election next year.

We have far more important issues in NJ and the USA than this hack issue.

Wait, they have to be in English? How do you get an English birth certificate if you were born in, e.g., Puerto Rico?

The document would need to be requested from the department that holds the original in English. Usually they will provide the document in English upon request.
