Not so close to Metropark, but closer then the suggestion of Plainsboro: I know there is some sort of Cricket league that meets in Johnson Park in Piscataway. There are a few cricket fields in the park, between the horse track and the 18 bridge.
Also just found this site which might be of some help.
A couple of my cousins play in a league that holds matches somewhere in Middlesex County. They seem to be a fairly competitive bunch, so you're skill level better be up to par if you want to roll with them!
I am very annoyed with all these leagues and other cricket players in the area. Can never join any of these leagues because I am not experienced enough in the game. No wonder cricket has never taken off in the US because all the immigrants play on their own and no one has setup beginner leagues.
I play for a team that practices in Edison - you are welcome to join the squad, but selection of the playing XI is not guaranteed - its on skill level and practice commitment.
