They were probably high on something or the kid has been abandoned - left by himself/herself to survive the streets....its not uncommon in Newark.

Sadly, I know that and that is how many young ones get caught up in the gangs....it's a sense of "family" to them....Lord only knows what the answers are to this problem which is spiraling out of control for communities & law enforcement....

Tragedy all around, the loss of 3 promising kids and the kid who was involved as he is now lost as well

He is just one of apparently several that were involved. The juvenile was arrested, and just now there was a press conference where they announced that they are looking for a 31 year old in connection with the murders. They believe still others are involved.

"Jose Carranza, 28, of Newark, surrendered with his lawyer at midday Thursday, Mayor Cory A. Booker said.

The suspect insisted on surrendering to the mayor after learning he was wanted for murder.

"He simply came forward. He said nothing," recalled Booker, who rushed from a news conference to meet the lawyer, Felix Lopez Montalvo, for the surrender.

Authorities have said robbery appeared to be the motive, but Dow said Tuesday that police also were looking into possible gang involvement"
