I don't know if it's ok to post this but with all the posts we have asking for contractor recommendations, maybe we should have a master list for the NJ board? I have worked with my share of bad contractors but there are a few that stand out and I'm happy to recommend them because they all provide quality work, are not overpriced, and the owners/workers are great! I do alot of research/price comparison and am very picky about who I hire so these contractors are really good. They're also not related to me nor are am I getting any commission/referral fees from them.
Recommended contractors who serve the Rutherford area:
1. Designer - Suzanne Michelsen of Marquee Design Group, kitchen/bath designer
2. Hardwood Floors - Dylan Hardwood Floors of Jersey City
3. Garage Doors - Garage Door Doctor
4. Windows - Window King
I hope more people would contribute to this thread. All the contractors/designers I use serve mainly the Northern Jersey area. Window King also serves NY.
Here are some more:
5. Cabinets - Direct Depot Kitchen in Little Falls (experienced designers and quality cabinets for good prices. I really like the showroom with their children's playroom and video monitoring) 6. Plumber - RM Plumbing in Rutherford 7. Electrical - Gem Electrical in Clifton
Do you really want names of HVAC companies from all over the state of NJ, despite the reality that most of them only serve a specific area?
I urge you to list the municipality in which you live, or at least your county, if you want helpful referrals.
I use Meyer and Depew based in Kenilworth. They are a very large company and probably serve amnu counties in the state.
They are fair, clean and respectful. They just replaced my furnace, AC unit and hot water heater and made everything very easy while giving me a lot of options to choose from.
