I believe that with Pike Run!!! There was a lot of shady crap going on in that place. We sold our condo there several years ago. I'm guessing the owner (who lived in the single family homes) planned to rent it out but couldn't. It wound up being abandoned.
ETA: we moved into new construction but it was one of the last condos available. Somehow the taxes were written on the listing as $2000/year. We got a letter a few months after we moved in that the taxes were really $4000! Within 2 years, the taxes were up to $7200 and going up to $7800 the following year. We said to hell with that and moved. I realized the taxes are compliments of the township but how did the listing screw up the taxes to say $2000 when they were really $4000 at the time???
We have no pool or tennis courts. About 100 units, built in 1986. Monthly maintenance is $210. It's going up to $215 in 2012, mostly because the town voted down a 5.65% tax increase proposed instead of the 2% cap. Town then said, "Fine, we can't afford garbage collection any more." The association took bids and got its own garbage contractor, and the fee is going up $15 to pay for it.
I moved in July, 2010. The fee was $200.
We did get nice new lightpoles in the parking lots last month.
Ours is going up $20 a month for 2012!
(So its going from $220 -> $240 a month.)
We live in one of the Society Hill properties.
In the last few years its only gone up $5 a month, so we were very surprised!
The fees seem to be all over the place. Before I bought this place, I went to another townhouse complex nearby. The units were large and the place was newer, and the fee was only $168. Then I looked at another townhouse complex and they had had a drainage problem and so had an additional $300-per-month assessment going on until the next year.
Can someone tell me average HOA fees in Leonia New Jersey?
