I heard rumors that they may bring back the credit for first-time home buyers -- is there any truth to this?

No truth to this. Although some senator or congressmen always proposes it. It is highly doubtful that this will happen again. That program was largely ineffective and really only done to prop the market up for a short period of time.

I hope not. It doesn't help the buyer at all. Sellers just charged $8K more (big money for the homebuilders). Just like the cash for clunkers. Before Cash for Clunkers, all of the dealers were giving $3k+ in rebates. As soon as C4C started, then stopped giving rebates. I got my car $1.5K cheaper 1 month after it ended then the quote I got during C4C
