I mean, this is all subjective. I don't find the top 20 so offensive (not like the ranking they did about 3 years ago, my God I think the writers were on crack), but I see one glaring anomoly - BOONTON? That's where Jackie Jr. went hiding, in the projects!

Seriously though, that's a big black mark on an otherwise pretty decent top 20.

I can't see the whole list b/c I don't have a subscription.

Many of the towns are in or around Somerset Hills area, agreed this part of NJ where Somerset, Union and Morris Counties meet is probably my favorite area of the state to live.

I thought the article said Boonton TOWN, not TOWNSHIP - a world of difference.

This is not as much fun with out the rest of the list

My favorite part is when you start seeing prefectly decent towns ranked below known ghettos

Hopoing someone has a subscription and can provide the site with a detailed list.

Not used to NJites being so quiet with their opinions when it comes to "best towns" in our Garden State.

There are lots of "new" towns listed in 2011 compared to previous years, due to change in methodology to exclude percent of open space.

Seems reasonable but definitely a heavy slant towards the Morris//Uniotn/ Somerset county pocket. I used to live there (a long time ago- 20 years ago) and while it is definitely a pretty area, I dont know that I would rank ti quite so high. It seems like they focused on a very narrow region to begin with. Ok you said discuss so I guess I will...
IF they mention Long Hill Twp at #18, which shares schools with Warren and Watchung, I dont see Long Hill being in any way superior to the other 2. In fact I always thought Long Hill "married up" so to speak to join with them for Watchung Hills Regional Hs which is an ok school, not stellar, but certainly superior to what Long Hil would have on its own.
