first of all, good thin these yuppies are moving because they are improving the area. Its all gritty and ugly! And it has a lot to go through to be considered nice, and its filled with lots of ghetto people and working poor. Its not a puppy paradise
I walked around the area of the heights where the elevator light rail stop meets the uphill residential area (Ogden?) Some parts of that area are being really gentrified and you can find some amazing deals for the $$ -- especially compared to Hoboken where cost of living just plain sucks.
Although when I walked around it was the late afternoon and I didn't appreciate a bunch of teenage thugs following me back to my car on their bikes. They tried to be threatening by following me but I got in the car and drove off. I'd imagine you'd have to watch your back at night in that area.

This sounds more like the Heights I remember. Glad you're ok.
Enjoy your plethora of parking tickets and the crack dealer next door. I wouldn't live there again if you paid me. The quality of life is a sham. Don't be a sheep.

Why so many parking tickets there? And did u literally have crack dealers by you?
okay.. so now this does not sound like a good area at all... I was hoping i could walk from the Path train station to Ogden ave at night after coming home from NYC after a night out on the town and be safe... your saying.. that this is not the case.

Its a fine area , why not go there and ask the locals. People on this site tend to slam Jersey City all the time for there own personal reasons.

I live near there. You absolutely can do that!
