And? High-skill IT is still here. The reality of the matter is that in the past 15 years basic IT has become far simpler and less valuable, as computers and everything associated with them has gotten far simpler and harder to screw up.

LOL, no. I'm still here in IT as well, everything has become MUCH more complicated as the systems and volumes of data grew. It became less valuable because everyone who has read a programming book in India was automatically given an H1 visa, which is only half-step above illegal immigration.
