according to this website, new jersey is the state with the most superfund sites.

Pollution Locator: Superfund: Rank States

and what makes it even more worse is that a lot of these places are areas which are near or at where people live? very strange that christie whitman out of all people was the head of the epa yet she couldn't clean up of new jersey. don't see chris christie making this a priority either.

Garfield, NJ, called one of the most dangerous superfund sites in the country -- WPIX

Did Fur Face or the self-proclaimed "Gay American" do more? Nice try at trolling. I give it a 6 out of 10.

To be fair , they have cleaned up alot of Northern Jersey sites. Like in Hudson , Bergen , Essex , Union , Passaic counties , there are 5 sites or less in these areas down from Dozens...

Thank goodness for the US Dept. of Environmental Protection, started by Republican President Richard Nixon in 1970....or else the poluters would have never have changed their ways voluntarily.

and for the record: any thread title that starts with "serious question" is in reality not serious.

I'm fighting mad!!!! I have no doubt that if we could just vote a Democrat in, the situation would be promptly fixed. The problem, of course, is that it's the Republicans who don't care about the environment.

Ironic that some Republi-tards today want to get rid of the EPA. Too tough on big business.

If you check out NJ sites on the EPA website , you will find that pretty much every gas station property is listed as a site. Doubt other states have searched as arduously for their problems.

The EPA, like firearms and lawyers can be used carelessly and cause terrible damage.

The EPA, like every other federal agency with 3 letters needs to be revamped or at least dosed with cold water of reality.

A legacy of good work by the EPA has been hijacked by extremists.

Most of the toxic chems in NJ are due to Union workers dumping waste. Good riddance.
