The train station closest to where I live, Berkeley Heights is not a reasonable fare for a monthly pass. It's $362 a month. That's like paying off a new car except it's for taking the train to NY Penn Station which is a complete rip off.

The point is I shouldn't have to avoid a major roadway by slaving to NJT when NJ is clearly a driving state (that is unless you want to live amongst urban blight and now own a car.)
When you drive to Newark to take the train, where do you park? Is there public parking available, and, if so, how much does it cost?

I park in a lot that is 8 bucks a day by the prudential center. There is street parking on certain days of the week, but I usually am running late and don't have time to look. You take a chance leaving your car parked on the street, but in ironbound it's generally pretty safe.
