murdering random person in OK and beating death of 88 year old a story like this is refreshing right here in Jersey. Kudos to the young men and also their parents who raised them right!!
its kind of sad that people are so inspired by people for not stealing. what would you guys expect them to do?
I'm not inspired by the fact the didn't steal, I'm inspired by the fact that a newscast (& The Today Show) can showcase a story about 4 young black men that didn't involve an actually crime being committed. Believe it or not, that doesn't happen as frequently as you would think on television.

so the fact that black men didnt steal is newsworthy? that sounds racist to me.
contrast this about people who won't go back into a store when they are given incorrect change or were not charged for an item....good to see members of the young generation aren't as "entitled" as old cranks like to call them.

it's not that the story is newsworth because black men didn't steal, it's that the news typically covers negative news only, and rarely covers feel good stories. as i just stated, i know plenty of people of every race who celebrate when a cashier forgot to charge them for something. here's a group of young men who could have just grabbed a pack of batteries and walked out...which, believe it or not, most people would do.

The media zeroes in on the negative, nice to see a positive story
(I might be missing the sarcasm, but just in case...)
The opposite:the fact that Black men are disproportionately shown committing crime being newsworthy nightly is somewhat racist. But that's another story for another day.
