BARBARA BUONO vs CHRIS CHRISTIE New Jersey Governor's Debate todaysnewsvideos - YouTube

Overall Buono is getting crushed -- She comes off as a condescending witch. On the other hand, I'm at 23:35 on youtube and I disagree with Christie on Marijuana (they should legalize and tax it like C.O.) and how the state economy is doing (near the bottom.) He comes off as very relaxed and pretty direct, which as I always I appreciate.

What are your thoughts on how this debate went?

Seriously, why do you even care? I thought you moved on from this state that you were so anxious to leave.

Because it's interesting and I registered as an absentee. Why the negative sourpuss attitude? It's a good post and I'm surprised that the "very informed" city-data forum NJ 'kool aid' squad hadn't posted a thread yet.

It's good to be informed, halffull.

I'd rather watch Christie debate somebody who matters. A democrat trailing by 21 points to a republican in a blue state does not merit my attention. I'd be more inclined to watch someone from the city-data forum debate Christie. It wouldn't be me since I am a big fan( outside of his idiotic and blatantly partisan stance on Gay Marriage I think he is pretty awesome).

is there a point in watching the debates?

I would imagine its too dangerous for a politician to rock the boat on drug legalization. the criminal justice groups would get to hurt if you stopped sending people to prison for drug related offenses.

Most people on this forum are Christie haters -- it would be worse to watch than Buono, who at this point is like a 5th rate Nancy Pelosi.

I don't believe for a second that CC is against gay marriage. When he's lying like most pols his eyes dart around and he licks his lips. This anti-gay marriage stunt is just him appealing to his favorite new base...Alabama.

I hate to say this but Barbara Buono doesn't stand a chance. The best she can do is make it a respectable lost. All she seems to mainly focus on is social issues. Don't get me wrong, social issues are important but they are not the only problems facing NJ. Her economic plan looks very weak to say the least.
