I am curious to know if Downtown Jersey City has been completely and totally gentrified yet? With Hoboken being so expensive already for so long, there has to be another location to relieve it. For every Williamsburg, you have to have a Greenpoint, for every Astoria, you have a Long Island City.
The last time I was there, it was looking pretty up and coming, but did not have the amenities to go along with it. It was a below Hoboken in that regard. How about now?

Eh its trying its hardest. Personally I think its to much of a bedroom community to become a Hoboken or insert any NYC neighborhood. But to answer your question it has become pretty gentrified but it is not close to the level of Hoboken yet.
I would say it is quite gentrified. Its not Hoboken, but for many people thats a good thing. Its a nice counterpart to it actually because its more of an older crowd. There is still plenty to do without the frat atmosphere and the food scene is better than Hobokens. Slowly but surly communities further from the path are being gentrified. I think the next area of JC that will be gentrified is Journal square. It has a ways to go, however, i suspect 10 years from now it will be quite different.
Downtown JC will never be as trendy and busy as Hoboken and Brooklyn, but I would say that it's fully gentrified. The quality of restaurants and other amenities has definitely been improving a lot over the past few years.

Yes, a lot of Indians currently live there, but that doesn't means that the area can't gentrify. Indian immigrants are generally well educated and invested in their children's education as well. That is a good thing for an area. And JSQ has great transportation access to the city. There will be more and more of a premium for that as time goes on.
They come off that way in social settings, but the majority of them are very dirty in their homes and live with too many people in their homes. They also let their young children run wild.
This just sounds ignorant. I work with well-educated Indian people. They live with their spouses and kids and when they take their kids to work, the kids seem like normal American children and they don't "run wild". You should as if your experience is very limited and you are applying what little you know to a wider spectrum.
How would you even know this? Do these people whom you so obviously look down your snoot at invite you into their homes to see how they live?
