Anyone ever tell you that you start too many threads?

Perhaps the troopers were there to give his relatives a royal welcome. After all, it's not every day that someone arrives in the Brunswicks from India!

Living your life consumed by fear is no way to live. Whether it's your mom afraid of beaches, or you afraid to ask a cop a simple question for fear of being shot.

Look, the cops just park wherever they want, whenever they want. They might have been simply having a chat; they don't care about your driveway.

ADI, you have to get over your fear of LE people. There are just like everybody else except they carry guns. Some are real nice, some are not so nice, some are jerks and some are absolutely worthless. If you asked them why they parked in front of your driveway you hope they were one of the nice guys otherwise they might have cuffed you and slapped you around a little like they do on some of the TV shows.
You say it was 1:00am and for all you know they just stopped to take a leak and blocking your driveway was not the first on their mind.

Like others said stop posting about everything that happens to you everyday, that's what Facebook is for.

Perhaps they did ring the bell, but nobody answered the door because...you were not home.

I think that you need to provide a clearer narrative of the events, as what you posted is...not clear...but I agree that you could have/should have exited your car and slowly approached one of those NJSP cars when you arrived home. After the fact, it could be a bit difficult to ascertain what took place.

OK, Me and my dad went to JFK for picking up our relatives who were arriving around midnight. Mom was asleep by 10:30 PM. She had no Idea the cops were outside when she was asleep. She told me that nobody knocked the door and identified themselves as cops. What I did notice before leaving to JFK was an odd looking car 2 houses away. Wondered what was going on, but made the assumption that it was a relative of someone in the neighborhood, locked my home tight, and left around 10:30 PM. What happened in the meantime is a mystery for us and my mom. Perhaps the police prevented a potential theft from happening . I trust law enforcement to be clean in the USA, not corrupted like India. So I presume it was for the right intention.

If it was a theft , then it would of happened already.

Cops in the USA being clean? LOL what fantasy book did you read? Sorry to break it down to you but all of the USA is corrupt but NJ and NY being the most corrupt in the US.

If one of your neighbors asked for police response regarding the "odd looking car", the response would have come from your local PD, not from the NJSP, as you live in a municipality with its own police force. So, I do not believe that the presence of those NJSP cars (assuming that they really were NJSP vehicles, and not local PD vehicles) had anything to do with "preventing a potential theft".

And, if your mother did not hear the doorbell ring and/or did not hear banging on the front door, then that tells you that the police were not interested in something going on in your house. Trust me...if the police wanted somebody to open your door, your mother would have been awakened, as the police are VERY loud when they want to get your attention.

Most neighborhoods have a resident busy-body who seems to know everybody's business and who peers out the window at everything taking place on the street. I suggest that you ask your neighborhood busy-body if he/she knows what transpired on your street. However, more than likely the front of your house was just a convenient place for those two cops to park while they (pick one or more)...did paperwork... socialized...drank coffee, so it is very possible that there is nothing of significance for anybody to report.

Adi, I thought you were moving out of the country because of Rice cancelling her appearance at Rutgers. Maybe the NJSP were there to give you an escort to the airport. Did you major in "Drama" at Rutgers?

That's a likelihood as well, since I did not see them with sirens on. Yes, both were state troopers. I live only 500 ft from route 27, and a few state troopers do patrol the highway late at night. No worries then, but being away from my house for a while and seeing cops outside after coming back is a bit spooky.

The close proximity of your house to Rt. 27 makes it very likely that they just wanted to park away from the flow of highway traffic in order to do...something.

Try to remember...It's not always about you...
