Moving to Berkeley Heights at the end of the month. Love the town. However, there is a 3 year wait for the parking lot. There are no non permit spots. Just wanted to get everyone experience. Is the wait really 3 years or is it longer/shorter? Any plans for the town to add more parking? Also, what are the alternatives to getting to midtown from BH?
To minimize my drive, in thinking of driving to summit and paying 10 bucks for parking. The cost will really add up if I do that.
Long Hill Township sells parking permits for Gillette, Stirling, and Millington stations. I am 90% sure they are open to anyone who wants to pay, not just residents. That said, the Gillette station permits are the ones that I think they sell out of and would not be available at this time (I think permits go on sale each year in December). Worth a look at least though.

Do you know how long your coworker has been waiting for a parking permit?
I don't know that he ever applied for a permit, but he's been doing the commute for 6 years, so. I'm sure he would have applied for a BH parking permit, it's so much cheaper and convenient than driving to summit and paying for parking.

Really hope it's not that long. Wouldn't be surprised though. Been on parking waiting lists that were much longer than estimated.
