Hello CDers!

I will be relocating from RI to Monmouth County - Either Long Branch, Freehold, Hamilton or New Brunswick are the areas I want to live in. I will essentially be homeless while the movers pick up all my things in RI and deliver them (eventually) to NJ.

My question to you is do you have any suggestions for temporary housing? My new job is located off 195 / exit 16 (clarksburg)

Thank you in advance for your suggestions!

Julie

Despite it's reputation, Craigslist has a temporary housing section. Just be smart about it. Other sites may also advertise. Depending on how "Temporary" your housing needs will be, you could look into renting a room, hotel deal, and a storage locker.

I would also check out extended stay hotels. Does AirBnB have locations in NJ?

OP, when I needed temporary housing in Monmouth County I put MY own ad on Craig's list stating my needs, price range, etc. I got three good responses and ended up renting temporarily in Long Branch. Unfortunately, my former landlord since died, or I would have pointed you in his direction. He had a two-family and rented to his BIL in the summer so the apartment was available the rest of the year. He usually rented to students at Monmouth University. Maybe there is someone else out there with a similar situation.
