My Husband will be starting a job in Trenton soon M-F 9-5. I currently work in Toms River so I am thinking since Asbury Park is close to I-195 it may be a good place to move that is convenient to both locations. I am wondering what the morning commute is like westbound on I-195 from Asbury Park to Trenton.
I see Google maps says it can be done in under 50 minutes. Is this the case? Anybody ever do this commute? Thanks so much for your responses!
IMO - it would take approx 1.5 hrs to commute from AP to Trenton. Local traffic will cost about 20-30 minutes just to get to I-195 before he actually starts to cross the state. Bad weather conditions and accidents will certainly cause traffic delays and add to longer commute time. So figure spending minimal 3 hrs day commuting round trip and be prepared for physical and mental exhaustion for it.
I haven't done it in the rush hour 9 to 5 slot but I think you can do it most days in about an hour.
I've worked with people who drove 195 across the state daily. And no way should local Asbury Pk to I-195 take 30 minutes on any regular basis.
I think 1 hour might be feasible but would need to apply a lead foot - watch out for speed traps. Also, during summer months traffic would be heavy heading towards the shore areas in the evening. My husband commutes I-195 but heads towards Princeton area from Wall twp. It certainly takes him over an hour and longer in the traffic conditions I mentioned. It is doable.....
Thanks for your reply! That makes me feel a bit better for him seeing that Princeton is a bit farther away then Trenton. So maybe under an hour is possible.

Ah, I was really hoping to relocate to Asbury Park, but if living in Belmar or Wall Township would save a lot of time we may have to look there. Thank you for your response.

I'm sure he takes I-195 to the New Jersey Turnpike(exit 7a)which is also I-95 .Remember I-195 goes right through Jackson NJ ....Great Adventure and the summer traffic can be hell .

Hi, so what you are saying that traffic on 195 would be especially bad going eastbound during the summer months?
