Can you see Hackettstown growing and becoming a true of hub north western NJ? or will it always be a small borough, the same as it is now?

It serves its purpose pretty well now. I don't think it has any problems that growth would solve. There are also some national one of a kind technical companies and such located thereabouts. Its not meant to be a NE NJ city so it shouldn't need to change.

It's the hub for Warren County, which is fine...but it's still Warren County. The court house, services, and a few decent restaurants are there, which is about all you can ask for from a fairly rural town. Not every town west of the Watchungs is going to be a Morristown. Short of a bullet-train service being used on the Morris-Essex line, few people will commute from there to New York.

Hackettstown the "hub" of Warren County? IMO that would be Phillipsburg. The Warren County courthouse is in Belvidere, not Hackettstown. Tons of people commute to NY from the Hackettstown area. Some by train, some by bus and some by car. That's why there is all of that traffic on Route 80.

Hackettstown is fine as it is. the potential lives in its location near major roads and the gateway to the 'interior of that rural region.

Just a nice town, neat architecture, what do you want it to be?

Maybe a very long time from now. It surely is a lot different now than it was 15 years ago for sure, but at least 30 years away from every being like Morristown or Montclair. They really are getting a good mix of restaurants now and there is a brewery opening soon. It's nice to see a bunch of different choices for food in the area.

I don't think Hackettstown will ever become a Morristown or Montclair. The people around Hackettstown are mostly suburban family types. These people look for a bargain when eating out and entertainment, hence the success of places like Ruby Tuesdays and your big box stores.

Morristown and Montclair have a greater population of urban younger people. They have more money to spend on dining and such, thus more upscale places can exist.

hm..Hard to say. First off, it needs more frequent rail service. Second, it needs a barnes and nobles. This is the one thing that is missing from Hackettstown that I think it needs. Also, I don't know how the pizza and bagels are. But other than that, Hackettstown is a nice town. It does have centenary college but don't know if it could turn into morristown. I would prefer montclair over morristown. The food in morristown is overpriced except for the 2 indian places in the hyatt, the thai place, and raul's empanadas. I haven't tried the new godfather's pizza in morristown. The pizza sucks in morristown.
