For someone working in Mercer County, there's plenty of great schools. Hun, Lawrenceville Prep, Peddie, West Windsor-Plainsboro, Princeton, and more if you're willing to travel some. These schools rank extremely well.

You do realize that this post and question is 8 years old. Consider it a dead topic?

Like you, I would definitely consider it to be a dead topic, but I am still intrigued by somebody asking a question about school quality, while not being aware of tenses. Would that person really know the difference between an excellent school and one that was not very good?

"How do NJ schools compared to PA schools" (?)
Really?

Really?

Maybe that's why they needed such good schools?

What I meant was the fact that every county in NJ is part of a metro. Warren is considered Lehigh and Salem and Cumberland are Vineland/Millville/Bridgeton Combined Stat.
I recently bought a car......I had a price in mind for this specific car. I went to 4 dealerships and none of them would meet my price. It was a lightbulb moment...if all these dealerships said no...maybe, just maybe, the problem was ME. I adjusted my price point slightly and got a deal. Something to think about when you disparage a whole group of people who you think are the problem.

As far as costs I'd say most of eastern Bucks county and western NJ are on par as far as housing cost and property taxes. If you're anywhere near the New Hope area forget it, CRAZY expensive. Apples to Apples comparing the same exact house/property tax I'd say PA might save you like $100 a month. A benefit to PA is state income taxes is around 3.5% less then NJ I believe. If the priority is schooling you'll do what it takes, if that means living in a $300k townhouse instead of a $400k single family because the taxes are higher.. you gotta do what you gotta do.

You save a lot in the Levittown/Fairless Hills area compared to most parts of NJ, and QOL is hands down better.

Up on the other side of Morrisville, especially in places like Doylestown and Newtown, New Hope etc, it is more expensive because there is a lot of old money up in those areas. Yardley is a wealthier area than Levittown, but I do not know that it is significantly more expensive. I saw somewhere that Lower Makefield Township by itself, which includes Woodside and a large portion of Yardley, is the wealthiest municipality or township in the state of Pennsylvania with a population of over 10,000 yet it is still more affordable than Ewing across the river in New Jersey, which is only a little more than half as wealthy, has a substantially higher crime rate, and a ghettofied public school system. As previously mentioned, Pennsbury is supposed to be one of the best in the Philly metro.

Still relevant. We can further exemplify the territoriality of NJ.
