Just curious - how do the Maryland schools compare to the NJ schools? I am thinking in the Washington Metro area they must be pretty good too? Or do most kids go to private schools in those areas?

I agree that NJ schools are top notch, especially when you start comparing them to schools in the south.......

My nephews go to school in the DC metro area of Maryland and they are happy with the schools. Just like in NJ, schools in the wealthier towns will be fine, while the poorer urban districts will have the same problems we have in those districts here.

Exactly. NJ's worst school districts are some of the most expensive from a high-tax utopia standpoint

That reminds me, has Newark blown through that 100 million dollar gift from Zuckerberg yet?

Sorry the formatting of this link is pretty poor, maybe there's another out there but I'm too lazy.

Some methodology:

Which N.J. School Districts Have The Best Teachers? | Toms River, NJ Patch

Bottom line....

East Orange ranked ahead of Westfield

Some Camden school ranked better than Randolph.

Phillipsburg higher than Millburn.

(I could be comparing Elementary with HS, everything is listed but still).

All of these rankings kill me.
Another support wing of the Dem party saying 'trust me'.
I suppose they know that overall the unions and school boards instructed teachers to shy away from critical thinking as in the long run it would help when creative stats such as this would be floated to garner accolades for NJ edu.
