Moving to Hazlet, NJ This Month-Questions (rentals, new home, buy)

Hi Everyone. This is my first time posting here. My husband and I will be closing on a home in the Fleetwood Park area of Hazlet, NJ this month. I just had some general questions that I wanted to ask people who actually live in this township because it is very different than what goes on in NYC where I currently am.

So, heres my questions:

1. Regarding trash pickup (not recycling), do any of you have a good company that you can suggest calling, especially least expensive right now??

2. Who is the electrical company you would suggest as I see there are a couple coming up when I look.

3. Same question for gas company??

4. Opinions on better alarm monitoring companies as well as pricing if you know?


Any information you can provide besides the above to a new homeowner coming into the area would be greatly appreciated!!

Also, cheapest companies for dumpster rentals would be appreciated too if anyone has any ideas?? We got some cleanup to do at this house.

1. Trash gets picked up by a township or by a contractor company, but one does not have a choice, who ever is picking up trash in your area is that. Find out for one of the neighbors what are the garbage days, Like where I am right now, garbage truck comes on Tuesday and Thursday, That's when you put out your trash and recyclables as pier city ordinance. There are 2 days a month when large garbage is picked up like furniture.

2.3. Utility companies serve an area, who ever is the utility company that serves your area that's who you got. I have never heard 2 utility companies serving the same area. I never had an issue with PS&G. Water is usually provided by the township and is a separate bill.

4. Get a dog, if you have the back yard for a large breed to run around. There is lot's of benefits for getting a dog.

does the house come with an alarm system already installed or do you need to add one? If I had to start from scratch, I may look into something like simplisafe where you buy the various motion detectors and door/window thingies and then pay a low monthly price for service without a contract. my house came with equipment so I just negotiated the company down from their ridiculous price to a better one.

dog and a few guns are also good additions to your home security package.
