We found a free travel trailer at a storage facility. Manager claimed she had a clean title and that the RV had been sitting there for approximately 3 years and gladly would allow us to take it. When it came time to register she handed us a title with the previous owners name on it as the buyer 26 years ago. He never registered it when he bought it. The tile was done up in Illinois 1990. He abandoned it in New Jersey.
Does anyone know how we can straighten this out.
I would be most thankful for any suggestions. We'd love to flip this RV as it is a1961 Classic.

Instead of picking up the phone, isn't it better to register for this forum, and then post a question soliciting advice from random strangers who may not have a clue regarding the legalities that are involved with this issue? Surely random strangers with unknown agendas are more authoritative than the folks who actually issue vehicle titles.

We have been there (DMV) received a call back from them. they are sending a packet in the mail. The person at DMV claims that it will be a long court process. Oh well no short cut to this. Thanks anyway.
