Hi we are looking to do a large renovation - multiple baths, kitchen, floor, repaint etc.. in fort lee area of bergen county

does anyone know any good contractors that are fairly priced and does good work? i tried to call a few, but half doesnt even return my calls, others never show up after confirming the appointment. The few who came are not actual guys doing the work just salesman and giving me ridiculous quotes like $80k to do a 10x10 med level kitchen.

You did think for such a big project there will be more interest, but no.

and all the ones i called are those highly reviewed from the websites, which led me to think many of those reviews may be bogus.

Sad state of affairs...

Finding a good contractor is always hard. I have heard so many horror stories from people we know. The contractor we hired was a disaster.

In general, good, reasonably priced contractors are extremely busy and have limited time to return phone calls. It is better to be patient and wait for them. I would stay away from a contractor that has a receptionist, sales and is ready to start right a way. These facts probably mean poor quality and high costs.
