I am looking for somewhere to go this weekend (Friday or Saturday) with the wife. We are active people and want to go do something fun or interesting. Willing to stay overnight in an area if the drive is over a few hours each way.

Some past trips that we both really liked recently...
1.) Mohonk Mountain House, NY
2.) New Hope, Lambertville

So pretty open to all suggestions. We love animals so if there is something that can incoprorate animals that would be a bonus. Ideally something within a 3 hour drive from Philadelphia maybe a tad longer if worth it. Even short trips to neat sights, musuems, something different.

Thanks....

Philadelphia! www.gophila.com

DH and I are going there this weekend. You can get hotels dirt cheap right in Center City on Hotwire or Priceline. We got one for $72/night. Great shopping, museums, history and restaurants and plenty of cool bars!

Gettysburg is nice if you like Civil War stuff and they have some good ghost tours at night.

Baltimore Inner Harbor area has always been good for a weekend with lots of good food/drink and some museums.
