Has anyone done grand jury in Newark? I've been selected, I've filled out the form and I'm going to go. I'm also perfectly able to go and it won't affect anything in my life. I'm quite interested in the whole process.
I'm just confused about the selection process. I've been told that there are two options: to serve or choose to pass. Since I don't want to pass I'll serve. However I've also been told that my name will def be called.
How many people are usually there? am I automatically going to get a slot or is it still first come first serve randomly until they fill the seats?
I got a letter about grand jury in Newark, they give you a juror # and a phone # to call in evening , I actually only had to go in 1 day, sat in room for a couple hours and told to go home.
It said on notice it was 30 days but after a week of calling in at night it said your jury duty is complete.
