Much of the original target demographic for FB has moved on to things like Snapchat. Then again the young aren't known for remaining loyal to things long, and this coupled with the rapid and ever changing technology advances means there is always something new.

First there was AOL, then came ICQ/Instant Messaging, etc... now all quite antediluvian.

FB is growing, but much of that is coming from Third World countries and other places where the market is just opening up.

In any event FB has always been about one thing; the huge amount of personal and other data collected that can be sold. Mr. Zuckerberg and family aren't worth hundreds of billions because he invented a away for persons to keep in touch. You see this now with so many businesses and advertisers having FB relationships. All those "Likes" even if only fractions of a dollar per click add up.

Miss Betty White said it best when she hosted SNL:

" Betty White told the audience that she “really has to thank Facebook”. She also admitted humorously that “When I first her about the campaign to get me to host Saturday Night Live, I didn’t know what Facebook was.” She continued, “Now that I know what it is, it sounds like a huge waste of time”. She then took a jab at users, stating that, “I wouldn’t say the people on it are losers, but that’s because I’m polite.”

"Needless to say we didn’t have Facebook when I was growing up. We had phone book, but you wouldn’t waste an afternoon on it."
