Hello,

I am planning to move to huntley rd area of Summit NJ. Can someone help me understand more about this Area like Safety, one of the reasons I am considering summit is to have good schools, however I read some reviews about Jefferson elementary ( which is is not great) which comes as the elementary school for huntley residents.

Any help is highly appreciated!

Kind Regards
-SBP

Huntley homes are small capes , starters homes around 400k, summit schools are in the top 25 in the state. the area is very safe.

Are you planning on taking the train? Just be aware that the walk to the train from here isn't pleasant. You have to walk under a narrow railroad bridge with no sidewalks, then up a steep hill.

Good advice. New Providence is much better than the Huntley Road section of Summit.

There are 2 or 3 houses in huntley section which are bigger colonials as compared to other cape cod styles. The selling price is 650k-700k. Me and my wife both work, we both going to drive to the work place, so taking train is not everyday activities. I also heard that there are no school buses (i think this may be due to fact that everything is accessible within 2 miles may be).

So far what I see from the replies

Safe - Yes
Schools - Good

Regarding new providence, we did look at the houses in NP, however, most of the houses are built in the year of 1960-1980, where the house I am currently looking at Summit, it is just 15-20 yr old home.

Best of Luck.

To me an older home means a more established neighborhood.
