I am looking for some cheap place to stay doing the summer break 2008.
I have searched the internet for hostels and motels but did not find anything but expensive places. I am searching for a place below 20-30 USD per day. I only need the place for sleep. nothing else.
The place have to be around Wyckoff but I don't really care if I have to take the train half an hour to get there.
Anyone from NJ who can point me in the right direction.
The likeliness of you even finding that is slim to none....
and if you do, you don't want it...even for sleep (I doubt it would even be deemed cleanly or safe enough for sleep )
You're probably going to be looking at 100+ a night. MAYBE 90...but I've noticed most hotels in the NNJ area are 116-140+, mostly on the end of the scale (I know when I stay in NJ, the one I use is generally 140 plus tax [I get cheaper, because I'm always there])
Good luck.

Reason: typo
I am a big guy. I can take care of myself. Nah, just kidding.
If hotels/motels are the only option I guess I have to go with that.
It just seems a bit expensive when it is a one month visit. that will be +3000 USD alone just to get a place to crash. Damn! Guess I have to ask my bank adviser for a loan. It sucks to be a poor student.
What about rooms for rent or hostels? Isn't that a cheaper option?
At the place I am going to visit they told me that some English guys rented a room in Hoboken for a very cheap price. Anyone who knows anything about these options?

I know the pain (being a poor student ). I'm hoping to move out around August, and will be busting my butt all summer to save enough to cover first month's rent + 1 1/2 months security (which will run me anywhere from 2500-3000 ish ) plus moving/utility set up costs - unless I find a room that is cheap enough (I don't see any point in renting a room if it's only a small amount cheaper, when I can get a bigger space to myself for only a couple/few hundred more, for myself).
Time to take out that loan for me, too. (I hope not!)
Putting ads on Craigslist, or in online papers (not sure if Wyckoff has one, but try the surrounding areas, if not)...might help, too.
Will every place in NJ be close to Wyckoff if I go with train?
