Does anyone here own a property in "Stratford at Monroe". I am actively looking to buy a property in good school district. I checked out "Springside at Robbinsville" but the taxes there are extremely high. Tax on a 700K house in Monroe is same as tax on 550K house in Robbinsville and with the new tax laws in effect, this won't be deductible beyond 10K.
The issue I see with Stratford is that you need to deal with the subcontractors directly for upgrade which adds to uncertainty of expenses you incur on upgrades and it does not bake in into the mortgage because you pay separately.
If anyone have some other suggestions about new property preferable upto 650K (can stretch upto 700K) with good school district and under 1.5 hour commute to downtown NYC, please recommend.
you are paying 750+ for a new home,
you have to add
1) 10k for appliances
2) 5k for lighting upgrade
3) 5 to 10k for kitchen upgrade
4) 5 to 10k for bath room
5) 5 to 10k for flooring
Total house price by the time close will be 800+
right now starting price for the biggest model is 825k, you do the math.
good bet is buy 10yr old home
