when you go to one of these auto stores, look up your part, print it out and hand it to the guy at the counter. No muss, no fuss. Better yet order your part on line and just go to pick it up. Get discounts online as well. Save tax money by buying from a store in an economic zone like Perth Amboy or Plainfield.

never, ever engage in a query session with the counter guy!!!!

Be sure gang members will place their people in these positions. Too good not to take advantage of for nefarious intent.

Not to worry we live in a sanctuary state with strict gun laws and a 10 round magazine cap.

Gang members are going to get jobs at Auto Zone in order to get people’s info? Are you for real?

No, you are not overreacting. Did you inquire further as to how they had that info?

Are you sure they get the info from the DMV? It seems odd to me and I find that hard to believe. My guess (and it's only a guess) is the person may have looked out the window and added the plate number to the receipt for warranty purposes. Did the rep come out and put a meter on your battery and test it to tell you if it is OK? They usually tell me to keep the receipt in the glove box in case it needs to be warrantied. Maybe they were having a problem with people loosing receipts and found this as a better way to serve their customers.

Yes, I am sure. If you take a look at my response, in post #13 of this thread, you will see the explanation.
Ms. Whitman made the decision to monetize that information by selling it to private parties, and all of the governors who followed her failed to reverse that policy.

As to those "loose" receipts, I think that some tightening is in order. Otherwise, people might lose something valuable.
