Imo, the most NJ road is Route 4. It is crazy traffic with slow and fast cars and endless eatries and stores pasted alongside with short runways and insane exit turns into stop signs. Malls and big box stores all along the road.

If you don't have good handling car and tires don't even think of driving fast on it.

I've only been on Route 9 in South Jersey in the middle of the week in the middle of the day. There was a little traffic, but it wasn't bad.

NJ Turnpike, Garden State Parkway, and Atlantic City Expressway. All three uniquely NJ, and all three tolled, something that New Jerseyans are content to do, namely, pay for traveling on roadbeds that should be free.

Interstate Highways and Federal signed roads are multiple state roads, with the singular exception of US 46, which is very unique in that is signed a federal highway, but is wholly contained within New Jersey.

State highways, completely different, are contained within the state. NJ 10 NJ 18 and NJ 31 could be added to the tolled roads list as examples.

NJTP connects NYC and Philly.
GSP connects NYC and the Shore.
ACE connects Philly and the Shore.

Those three together pretty much tell you everything you need to know about New Jersey.

What causes you to think that they like it. I've been on the Garden State Parkway once because I missed an exit, Atlantic City Expressway twice because my husband was driving, and NJ Turnpike many times for short distances because it was the most efficient route. It was better than the alternative.
