We went from being known for having the cheapest gas prices in the country to having the most expensive. With price per oil hovering around record lows of $20 a barrel we are on the top end with regular gas at $2.08 regular / $2.69 for premium. Part of the reason why we have these prices are Democrat voters who voted Murphy who has repeatedly increased gas taxes and cancelled a scheduled gas tax decrease by the Christie Administration. However, I still believe we are being ripped off by the oil companies as gas should be much cheaper in the state as it is now.
Are you huffing gasoline? We were never the cheapest nor are we now the most expensive in the country. We are number 12 in the very link you provided. And you really want to blame Murphy for this? Take a look at when the gas tax increase happened...who was governor then? I suggest you get over your MDS...and to go for a walk at the Paterson Great Falls.

Are you kidding? New Jersey was always bottom 5 cheapest in the country. Murphy did a 295% (yes thats right) tax increase.

You’re wrong. In 2016, the gas tax increased from 14.5 cents to 37.5 cents per gallon (a 23 cent, 157% increase). Governor CHRISTIE. But hey...Dems controlled the legislature, and this was bipartisan. It also lowered the sales tax as a trade off. So you can still cast blame on Democrats if you want, but Murphy? No, you cannot.
Murphy’s increase is 4.3 cents, or 11.5%.
MATH
My personal opinion by the way was that, yes, it was long overdue since having not been raised since 1988. But you should never pass a 157% increase on anything overnight. It should have been handled more gradually.
