Guess most state jobs need to have a final approval by the NJ Civil Service Commission. Are they providing the final approvals these days, or simply holding them due to budget issues? Thanks for any information.

CSC is taking longer to move on approvals because of Covid

Thank you so much for the information! Hope the hiring freeze will be lift soon, maybe when the new relieve package including state funding is passed by Congress in the near future ?....only hope that those already waiting for the final approval will not be "cancelled" Also, it seems a little strange to me that CSC is still posting many state jobs these days; maybe they just let people into the application process first?? .... For the Covid, vaccine is coming so I also hope this impact will be gradually alleviated...

I am with Treasury.

I saw some recent promotions at OIT. I will see if I can see if they have received a waiver

In addition, I guess new hiring needs orientation. If this is not conducted now due to Covid, perhaps it will also make a difference??......

Hi n4mfa81.

I'm dealing with the same situation as you but the good news for us (IT personnel) is that we are mostly considered "essential personnel" (or so I've been informed) due to the increasing reliance of WFH scheduling for state employees.

Hang in there.
