Does anyone know if homes in central Nj are still in multiple offer situations? And how much are homes going over ask on average.

Yes. My friend's parents downsized in CNJ to a 180k home. Offers were over 190k on 5/21

Yes, in many cases. We are under contract to sell my late mother's house at exact asking, but it was a house that needs a lot of work/updating. (North Jersey, though.)

Hard to answer your question. Depends upon the location and the house, but it's even happening in the little townhouses where I live in Eastern Monmouth.

As I posted in a different thread, a home in my Central NJ neighborhood just changed hands for--easily--100k more than it would have sold for 1-2 years ago. I have no idea how many offers there were, but the sale price was inflated by at least 20%.

I went to an open house for a unit in my complex here the other day. Was chatting with the Realtor, and she said she is telling her buyer clients not to bother making an offer for anything under asking right now because they are wasting their time.

I’m that isn’t too bad. The state I’ve been looking at has lost prices that are inflated and multiples on almost every property. Most are going 50-100k over ask. NJ doesn’t sound as bad

No
~$100k over the realistic value seems to be the new norm in Central NJ.

Nj doesnt seem as bad as MA RDU or CLT where my family is also looking.

A 1100sqft townhome in RDU sold for $165k in 2019. Listed in 2021 at 239k. 48+ offers, just sold at 295k. Thats absurd.

What do the acronyms RDU & CLT mean? I'm assuming MA means Massachusetts but I could be wrong?
