The difference is that there are not well over 10,000 deaths from the flu shot as there is with the COVID vaccine.

You don't have to be vaccinated for the flu in order to work in a hospital. That is a myth. But if you refuse the vaccination, you must wear a mask during all patient contact, which used to seem onerous, but non longer does since we now have to wear masks during all patient contact anyway.

I'm not saying this as someone who doesn't believe in vaccines. I most definitely DO believe in them, and I get vaccinated for the flu every year.

First, never in history have 4.2 billion doses of a vaccine been given in such a short time period.

When put next to 4.2 billion, 10,000 deaths is minuscule.

That is a 1 in 420,000 chance of death from the vaccine.

For a point of reference, your chances of being struck by lightening are 1 in 15,300.

Considering the fact that in the state of NJ, 99.8% of the people dying from COVID are unvaccinated people, and 0.2% of the COVID deaths are in vaccinated people, it is safe to say that the vaccine is working very well.

I think you have misconstrued the data. 4.2 billion shots may have been given but that's not individual people.

I didn't misconstrue anything. I clearly said 4.2 billion doses. Not people. Each individual dose can theoretically cause a reaction.

In fact, allergic types of reactions often require prior exposure to an allergen, so the chance of an allergic reaction is higher in people given the second dose of a vaccine.

Yes. Sick people go to the ER and are admitted every day. It's quite easy to pick up an infection there.

My son currently has an elevated temperature and a sore throat. He stopped wearing a mask as soon as he could. I didn't say it.

I went to two stores today and wore one. While the pharmacy had few customers, the supermarket was pretty busy. About 30% of the people there wore masks.

Every hospital I have ever worked at (vendor) required proof of the flu shot or I couldn’t round with the staff.

I dont know what they require of vendors, but I work in multiple hospitals and they all have the same requirements for doctors and nurses. You either have to have the flu shot or else you have to wear a mask around all patients.
