Hi - we are looking to move to a down to earth town in Bergen County with a strong Catholic community and a decent education (does not have to be a top pressure cooker high school), but needs to be okay. Does anyone have any recommendations? Would Wyckoff, Allendale, Haworth, Harrington Park make sense? We are open to other suggestions too, those were just recently referred to us.

Midland Park (between Wyckoff and Ridgewood, but a much smaller town than either of those) has an active Catholic community. The public high school is not at the top of the list, but t is still pretty good. My kid went there and will be (fingers crossed, lol) getting her PhD in May. It is definitely a down-to-earth community. Because of the smaller population of <7000, there is a good community network. It's also one of the safest towns in New Jersey. It is not located on any main highway, and that's part of it.
St. Thomas More is an elementary Catholic school, but the kids who go on to Catholic high school usually go to Bergen Catholic about 20 minutes away in Oradell.
ETA: Just read that the latest gives the population at 7,128, an increase of 180 over the last census.

All good for you - don't know Wyckoff as well as the other towns.
Also look at Park Ridge and Hillsdale.

Not too sure about religion but if you are looking for modesty...
1. Waldwick
2. Midland Park
3. Oakland
4. Ramsey
5. Wash Township
6. Rochelle Park
7. Maywood
8. Garfield
9. Lodi
10. Fair Lawn
etc
I would be wary of the pascack valley region as those towns have very poor connectivity with limited fast access to a highway.
Northeastern region isn't modest, and is never worth it. Period. Property taxes, isolation, etc

Some of those towns are below average for high school. For example Maywood sends to Hackensack which is considered bad by most. There are others in that list that are not great. What is solid to this poster may not be up to your standards. Also some of those towns specifically attract other religions because of the abundance of orthodox Shuls or mosques. Not that this is bad in any way but Proceed with caution if that is your 2 main criteria. I would ignore half this list.
Not sure if being right on top of route 4 or 80 is a priority for you. Some like it, some don’t.
Ymmv.

The OP was asking about religion, modesty, and okay schools.
Hackensack isn’t as bad as Camden, and is certainly better than others in the state.
I literally said I have no comment when it comes to religion. My list fits all other criteria. No one would accuse the people of Garfield being anything other than modest.
Yea, that was a weird list. Garfield is probably the worst town in Bergen County.
The criteria was modesty, and ok schools. The list serves that purpose. The OP was not asking about the latest $2M home in Upper Saddle River for example.
Ya’ll aren’t reading the OP and judging me.
